How many years have you been in business?
We started Misty Acres Alpaca in 2007 as an alpaca farm for breeding and harvesting alpaca fleece. Overtime we developed an interest in having our alpaca fleece made into clothing. In 2010 we started attending fairs, shows and other events selling alpaca clothing made from our alpaca fleece or cooperating nearby alpaca farms.
What are your store and farm hours?
Generally, we are open Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm and by appointment. Of course, there are times when we are attending fairs or other events so check our Events page to make sure we are not out of town or give us a call.
Where are your products made?
Our products are manufactured in the USA, Canada and Peru. Many of our socks, mittens and other products are manufactured in Maine by local artisans. We use fiber from our alpacas or neighboring Maine alpaca farms for our Made in Maine products. Look for our “Direct from Misty Acres Alpaca” designation on those products which contain fibers from Misty Acres Alpaca farm.
I have a defective product. What should I do?
Please email us at Charlie@MistyAcresAlpaca.com about your defective product and provide your name, order number and date of purchase so we can be in touch. You can also call Charlie at 207-370-4494 for immediate service.
What credit card do you accept? Do you take international orders?
We accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. All our sales are in US Dollars. Please contact us about international orders or purchases made in other currencies.
How do you ship your merchandise?
We ship our products US Postal Service Priority Mail and Express Mail within 48 hours. Customer may choose a faster service, if so please specify under “comments” when placing your order. For international order, please contact us for shipping to countries outside of the USA.
What is your refund policy?
We always strive to provide our customers quality products and exceptional service. Sometime products don’t meet our client’s expectations and we understand this happens. If you purchased a product from us and aren’t satisfied, it may be returned to us if it is unworn and in resalable condition within 30 days for a full refund.

How do I return merchandise?
To return merchandise, please place unworn and resalable products back in their original packaging along with your packing slip and mail/ship to: Misty Acres Alpaca, 3071 West River Road, Sidney, ME 04330. We do not refund the cost of return shipping.
